From Eco-Friendly Bags to Sustainable Gift Hampers: How Urban Rivington by Meet Shah Is Redefining Sustainable Gifting in India
New Delhi [India], October 3: In a market flooded with disposable packaging, a growing brand from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is making a simple yet meaningful shift: what if the packaging of a gift could be just as valuable as the gift itself?
Urban Rivington, a sustainable bag manufacturer and wholesaler specializing in jute, canvas, cotton, and juco products, is addressing one of the most overlooked aspects of gifting – what happens to the packaging after the occasion is over?
Over the years, the brand has been expanding its presence in the reusable bag industry, bringing together functionality, customization, and sustainability. From everyday shopping bags to premium corporate gifting solutions, Urban Rivington is reimagining how businesses and individuals approach sustainable packaging.
Gift hampers have always been an integral part of Indian celebrations, corporate relationships, festivals, and special occasions. However, traditional hamper packaging often follows a familiar pattern: attractive boxes, plastic baskets, laminated packaging, and decorative materials that are discarded shortly after the gift is opened.
Urban Rivington is challenging this conventional approach by introducing reusable bags that become an integral part of the gift rather than disposable packaging.
Its jute, canvas, and juco hamper bags are designed to serve a purpose long after the occasion has passed. Whether used for shopping, storage, travel, or everyday errands, these bags offer recipients something they can continue using.
The idea is simple: the packaging should not end with the unwrapping. It should become another useful gift.
From Everyday Bags to Premium Gifting Solutions
Urban Rivington’s journey has evolved alongside the growing demand for sustainable alternatives across India’s retail and corporate sectors.
Initially focused on reusable bags for everyday requirements, the brand gradually expanded into customized solutions for businesses, events, and gifting occasions.

Today, its product range includes:
Jute Gift Hamper Bags

Customized Shopping and Promotional Bags
What makes these solutions particularly relevant for businesses is their flexibility. Bags can be customized in different sizes, designs, colours, and prints, including company logos, campaign artwork, and personalized messages.
This allows brands to create packaging that reflects their identity while encouraging recipients to reuse the product.
Why Sustainable Hampers Are Becoming a Preferred Choice
The growing interest in sustainable gifting is driven by three important factors:
1. Sustainability
Reusable bags provide an alternative to single-use packaging, helping reduce dependence on disposable materials. Their continued usability makes them a practical choice for environmentally conscious consumers and businesses.
2. Functionality Beyond Gifting
Unlike conventional packaging that often loses its purpose once the gift is opened, jute, canvas, and juco bags can be reused for shopping, travel, storage, and everyday activities.
3. Extended Brand Visibility
For corporate buyers, customized gifting bags offer an additional advantage. A branded bag can travel with its recipient, creating repeated brand impressions long after the original gifting occasion.
This makes customized sustainable bags particularly suitable for employee welcome kits, festive hampers, wedding favours, corporate events, promotional campaigns, and premium retail packaging.
When a Corporate Gifting Bag Travels Across the World: A 361 Degrees Marketing Case Study
One of the interesting examples of Urban Rivington’s customized bag solutions comes from 361 Degrees Marketing, a customer that partnered with the brand for its corporate gifting requirements.
The bags were customized with campaign-related printing, transforming an everyday reusable product into a branded gifting experience.
What made the campaign particularly memorable was what happened afterwards.
Some recipients shared photographs of the customized bags while travelling internationally, including destinations such as France and New York, along with several other locations across the world.
What started as a corporate gifting initiative in India gradually became a journey of brand visibility across international destinations.
For 361 Degrees Marketing, this demonstrated how thoughtfully designed reusable merchandise can extend a campaign’s presence beyond its original audience and geography.
For Urban Rivington, it reflected the practical value of customized bags – a product designed for gifting can continue communicating a brand’s identity through everyday use and travel.
This is where sustainable gifting goes beyond packaging. It becomes a medium for storytelling, engagement, and lasting brand recall.
Part of a Bigger Shift Towards Responsible Gifting
Urban Rivington’s growth reflects a broader change in how consumers and businesses approach purchasing decisions.
Sustainability is increasingly becoming part of conversations around product design, packaging, corporate responsibility, and brand identity.
Businesses are looking beyond conventional promotional merchandise and exploring products that combine utility with responsible consumption.
In this changing landscape, reusable jute, canvas, cotton, and juco bags offer a practical solution of bringing together sustainable alternatives, customization, affordability, and everyday functionality.
As Gujarat’s and other Indian markets continue to witness interest in eco-conscious gifting and promotional products, Urban Rivington is positioning itself within this evolving space.
The Man Behind the Mission
At the centre of Urban Rivington is its founder, Meet V. Shah, an MBA in Marketing with over 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing and distribution of reusable bags.
His entrepreneurial approach is built around a simple belief: business growth and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
Rather than treating sustainability as a passing trend or a premium positioning, Shah aims to make reusable alternatives accessible, affordable, and practical for everyday use.
This philosophy has influenced Urban Rivington’s evolution from everyday reusable bags to customized corporate gifting and sustainable hamper solutions.
For Shah, the objective is not simply to manufacture eco-friendly products but to create products that people genuinely want to use repeatedly.
Because ultimately, the impact of a sustainable product lies not just in how it is made, but in how long it continues to serve a purpose.
And with Urban Rivington, the vision is clear: to make every bag more than just packaging: a reusable product that carries value, purpose, and a story.
