This year’s highest honour was presented to Shri Arun Mishra, the respected founder of Chandipur Dham (Pratapgarh) and a well-known humanitarian, for his extraordinary dedication to public welfare and his influential role in promoting faith, compassion, and social upliftment.
A Humanitarian Icon: The Inspiring Journey of Arun Mishra
Arun Mishra’s recognition is rooted in years of selfless service, particularly during the devastating COVID-19 crisis when countless migrant labourers were stranded thousands of kilometres away from home.
At a time when fear and uncertainty gripped the nation, Arun Mishra emerged as a pillar of hope.
Without worrying about his own health, he personally arranged:
• Safe return for over 12,000 migrant workers
• Food and water distribution throughout the journey
• Medical check-ups and essential supplies
• Transport facilities from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and other states
His efforts earned appreciation from national leaders including Member of Parliament Ravi Kishan and received acknowledgement from global health organisations such as the World Health Organization (WHO).
Beyond humanitarian service, Arun Mishra’s contribution to spiritual and cultural upliftment continues through the establishment of Maa Durgabhakti Dham — Chandipur Dham, located in his ancestral village in Pratapgarh. The temple has grown into a symbol of devotion, unity, and social harmony.
During Navratri and major festivals, thousands of devotees gather to participate in community feasts, cultural events, and social service activities inspired by Mishra’s leadership.
