After ‘Mintoo’ TV Series International Release and Success, I am Designing a Superhero Now – Says Director Lomharsh
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : ‘Superheroes are always a dream and fantasy for kids and adults both. And like in Hollywood, In India, we have very limited superheroes’, told Director Lomharsh. Lomharsh is currently busy designing a superhero for an International Campaign, and this superhero will be part of every individual day to day life.
In Nov 2022, Mintoo – A TV Series based on the journey of a woman, was released internationally. Mintoo was Lomharsh’s brainchild and received great response from international audiences in the US, UK, Germany and Japan. As a filmmaker, everyone attempts to create characters which will be remembered in the coming time, which is the thought behind creating ‘Mintoo’. I just don’t want to create fiction but to create a character which can be felt like part of us, says Lomharsh. After Mintoo’s Success, I felt more confident and decided to take over the task of designing a SUPERHERO.
Rashmi Mishra Played the lead character of ‘Mintoo’, and she told that ‘Mintoo’s character was challenging to play as it portrays the real struggle of today’s independent working women. The pain, the anger, the betrayal, the love and every other sense of women’s sentiments was fulfilled in the character ‘Mintoo’. I still remember a scene we were filming where I was being chased from an incident from the past. While shooting for this scene, I really started shivering and crying. Everyone thought it was a brilliant piece of act, but inside I knew it came out as a reality. I was so involved in the character during the shoot.
When asked to tell more about this Superhero, director Lom told that ‘ I cannot reveal much at this stage, but it is going to be an interesting one, finally after a long time, we are going to witness a witty and ‘thoda sa teekha’ SUPERHERO. We have been working on it for the last 2 years, and now very soon we will start shooting the campaign for the same. Initially, this superhero will be revealed to a digital audience, and later on, if all goes well, then this superhero will be seen on the big screen as well.
Director Lomharsh is known for Yeh Hai India, his debut feature, which has been applauded at Cannes and later on awarded the ‘Best Movie and Best Director’ Award at FOG, USA. The film also received the Radio Mirchi Music Award of 2020 for the ‘Best Raag Inspired Song of the Year Award’ for the Dhola song in this feature film. He also made Chicken Biryani Series which won 24 Nominations and Awards, Nationally and Internationally.
Shilpa Mittal, Partner and Co-Founder of Shilom Media LLP – A production house based in Jaipur and Mumbai, told, ‘As a Production house, we always look for something new and challenging, and this year is bringing so much unique for us’ We started with AD campaign in January followed by an International Film ‘PLAN-ET’ based on global warming issue and we also recently recorded Symphony at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai for our upcoming feature film. We are equally excited to see how director Lomharsh will be bringing this superhero to life.
